For us, we know that Sunday is coming. But for the people of God who were following Jesus, they didn’t know what would happen on Sunday morning. All they knew was that everything was different. And all they knew to do, at least for this moment, was to sit and wait.

A daily prayer for April 10, 2020.

Today is Good Friday. Traditionally it is a somber day. Churches gather for worship at mid-day or in the evening. We sing sad songs and remember the life of Christ.

Isolation is truly heartbreaking. We all need to know that we are not forgotten, that someone cares for us, that we are loved. We all need the tangible embodiment of the love of Jesus found in another person who offers comfort and care.

Well, it's Maundy Thursday of what is most definitely the strangest Holy Week in my memory. Maundy Thursday is the day in which Christians recognize Jesus' last supper with his disciples before his betrayal and we commemorate Jesus' controversial act of washing the feet of his disciples.
