We are Recruiting Camp Counselors
Camp counselor's hours options are 2:30-6:00pm or 4:00-6:00pm. Salary is based on experience. There’s also a volunteer opportunity for an After School Van Diver from 2:00-3:30pm. Contact Ms. Mason, Camp Director at 404 370-7689 #2247 for more information.
Qualifications for camp counselors:
High School Diploma in progress or completed
Must be at least 16 years of age
Required certifications current First Aid/CPR; must obtain any other certifications required for the position/onsite Certification is available
Exemplify First Camp ideals, leadership qualities
Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, problem solve and possess effective time management skills
Pass a criminal background check and drug screening
CPR within 30 days of employment and maintain throughout employment
Be able to maintain a safe and healthy environment for staff and children
Be able to provide sound, caring and positive leadership for children
Be able to recognize and implement safety standards in all program activities
Be able to participate effectively with other staff in implementing creative and fun camp activities for camp
Ability to work actively outdoors and/or indoors while supervising children
Responsibilities for camp counselors:
Under the direction of the Youth Development Director, the Camp Counselor will be primarily responsible for supporting the Camp program and for the successful achievement of providing guidance, safety, leadership, values education, and enjoyment for children served by camp
Perform COVID 19 safety procedures and all other necessary protocols before, during, and post camp
Personal temperature checks, camper and parent temperature checks and prescreen questions, sanitation of camp areas
Develop social distancing activities as needed
Implementation of programming that promotes Safety Protocol
Carry out daily program tasks related directly to the position's scope and responsibility
Maintain certifications in CPR, A New Staff Orientation and emergency procedures and any other required certifications and/or training required by FBCD Camp
Responsible for maintaining and reporting incident/accident paperwork
Volunteer After School Van Driver
Qualifications for van driver:
At least 25 years of age
Possess a current driver license free of moving violations within the past two years
Successfully complete background check
Certified in First Aid and CPR
Meet all Lead Teacher qualifications, including but not limited to:
Documentation of High School diploma or equivalent
At least 18 months experience with children in a group setting, or at least 6 months experience and 12 credit hours in early childhood education
Responsibilities for van driver:
Establish routes, schedules, and procedures with the school director to maximize safety of children
Adhere to the established schedule to the best of your ability
Observe all Department of Motor Vehicle rules and regulations and make sure all speed limits are observed
Complete a daily inspection of the bus, a weekly inspection of tires, oil, blades, etc.
and report all bus maintenance issues to the Director
Insure there is an adequate amount of fuel to complete the trip
Ensure all state mandated items are present and in good working order
Passenger Log forms should be completed as children arrive and depart the bus
Keep the bus litter free and cleaned up after each bus run
Ensure the safety of the children at all times
Meet and maintain all state licensing requirements/qualifications and always comply with all CNI Policies and Procedures
Attend all staff trainings and pursue professional training when available
Maintain flexibility regarding the business demands of the school, including scheduled working hours and assignments
Assist in other areas as requested by management
