Wake up, World! (Easter Sermon)

It’s a life-altering drama in three parts. The Easter story as told by the Gospel of John opens with a solitary figure visiting a tomb in sadness. The revelation of good news blossoms on this spring morning out of the hopelessness so evident only moments before.
With each movement of this drama, Dr. Jordan and our talented musicians echo the pathos of these scenes. The first emerges with a gradual discovery by Peter and John highlighted by “Awake My Soul.” Then Mary Magdalene’s struggle, our struggle, merges into “I Know That My Redeemer Lives!”
