Decatur Fine Arts Academy Now Enrolling!

Dear First Baptist Church of Decatur and Decatur Community,

We are so excited to open the doors of the Decatur Fine Arts Academy (DFAA) this fall and are very grateful to FBCD for partnering with us in support of our mission to bring high-quality arts education to Decatur. Establishing this academy holds extra meaning for us both since we grew up attending FBCD and singing in children’s choir together. Little did we know that two decades later, we would be teaming up with FBCD to provide a welcoming space for students of all ages to learn, grow, and work with professional artists. 

While it is our hope that DFAA will eventually offer lessons and courses in a variety of art forms, we are launching this fall with one primary area of focus: music! We are both musicians and teachers ourselves, and we have assembled a fantastic team of instructors representing a variety of musical areas, from saxophone to voice. We are excited to present student recitals at FBCD in the future and hope that our instructors and DFAA families can get to know the wonderful FBCD community going forward. We also plan to establish a scholarship fund over the coming year for families who need assistance with paying for private lessons.
