A Prayer of Faithfulness

A prayer based on Psalm 86:11-17

Gracious God, 

Your love is great, gracious and compassionate. In your abundant love and faithfulness, you come near to us when we cry out to you in the midst of a heavy time in the world around us. Teach us to walk in your ways, faithfully trusting in you with undivided hearts as we call upon your name. 

We praise you O God, with all our hearts, we glorify your name now and forever. We give you thanks for your deliverance in the face of our foes: division in our family and friend units, a menacing virus tormenting us. 

You abound in love and faithfulness. Have mercy on us and on behalf of your servants be our strong shield and hiding place. You help us and comfort us. In the shadow of your wings as we hide from the storm, we feel your presence with us. 

O Gracious God, save us. As our ancestors looked to you, let us look to you and live to tell of your faithfulness to the world around us. 

Amen.
