A Prayer for Hope
Lord on this autumn day we are evermore thankful for the gentle reminders of your creation. We give you thanks O God, for the earth and joy it brings us each day with the cooler mornings and the changing colors of leaves, we are in awe. These gifts refresh our spirit and give us hope.
But on the days…
when our joy seems silent--give us peace,
when our loneliness is too great--give us comfort,
when our anger dwells to long—give us relief,
when our weariness sets in—give us solace,
and with all the emotions of these weary days-- may we put our hope in you, our Good Shepherd and Sustainer of all our days.
May your hope shine brightly and reside within us, and may be aware of opportunities to share hope with all we encounter. Hear our prayer of thanksgiving on this day with hearts filled with gratitude for the wonderous ways you show us love, joy, patience, and hope. We pray together as people of hope longing for more, Amen.
