I Made It

This is the time of year many of us look back and take inventory of the things we accomplished, as well as what we left undone. Too often our focus is on the things we didn’t achieve as opposed to our successes.

Why do we, as believers become so distracted by the negative rather than the positive? By choosing to look at the failures instead of the successes, keeps us locked in the past.

It’s time to move forward.

I would like to challenge you today, as you look back over 2018, to realize what an amazing year it has been. You may not have lost the weight (again this year), you may not have gotten the promotion and you may not have kept one single resolution from 2018 but one thing you did do, was live to see the dawning of another year, 2019.  Remember, millions didn’t make it, but you were one of the ones who did.

When you understand how much the Father loves you, it really becomes very difficult to be so hard on yourself. I have personally spent far too much time putting myself down, believing I wasn’t good enough, smart enough or the right one for the job. However, when I began to see myself as God sees me, moving forward became my new focus.

Instead of zeroing in on what wasn’t done, how about celebrating how much the Lord loves you. This is how much He loves you, His child!

John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. “

He calls you the apple of His eye!

Psalms 17:8a says, “Keep me as the apple of the eye.”

He even knows how many hairs are on your head… (that’s love)!

And Matthew 10:30 reads, “But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.”

As you take inventory of 2018, look at all the amazing things you did do this year. The things, which didn’t go as planned, still worked together for your good, just as God intended. So stop being so hard on yourself and celebrate the fabulous person God created you to be.

Make 2019 your best year ever, not because of what you accomplished but because you are fulfilling your purpose by being exactly who God created you to be. Our Lord and Savior has a plan for you in 2019 and no one can accomplish it but you.

Let go of the past and celebrate the AMAZING future God has in store just for you!
