Community learning groups for children, youth, and adults
Our church community is committed to learning and growing together in the way of Jesus. While the staff hosts activities and events for the larger church community, you will have a more engaging experience at First Baptist Church Decatur by participating in a smaller learning group.
We’re unique in that we are a progressive Baptist church that still practices a Sunday School model of community learning. Groups are split based on interests and age, and vary in size from just a handful of people to 30+ members. Most classes are led by pastors, deacons, or other lay leaders.
Sunday School classes meet at 10:00am on Sunday mornings
You’ll find that your Sunday School class becomes family. Many eat lunch together, gather throughout the week, meet up for coffee or drinks at the local brewery, attend sporting events with one another, and more.
