Reformations of the Heart, Part 1: Caring

“Hallelujah!” So begins the powerful verses of Psalm 146 with this beautiful Hebrew word. It ends with the same word. “Praise the Lord” in English, our journey for this Sunday starts with the call to look to God, to give thanks, and to be thankful.

At the same time, the middle part of this passage presents highly challenging reminders of God’s priorities. The careful balance of praise and justice, gratitude and compassion, echoes throughout this psalm and across our scriptures.

Dr. Jordan carefully presents this along with three spiritual mentors whose hearts became re-formed with the gospel message and serve as reminders of God’s justice work in the world, through God’s loving work in our hearts.
