Joining Together for the Journey

They were trapped. Stuck between Pharaoh’s army and the Red Sea, the Children of Israel faced certain disaster. Whenever we feel stymied, stuck, trapped, or immobilized by our circumstances, our passage for this Sunday proclaims miraculous deliverance through the waters of the Red Sea and in the direction of the Promised Land.

Along with this classic story from Exodus, this Sunday is also “Celebration Sunday.” We are joyfully joining together with Scott Boulevard Baptist Church in our official merger to form our newly united congregation. We join together for a new journey of life and faith, and we are truly excited about what our joint future holds.

Along with Dr. Jordan’s sermon, Dr. Greg Smith, the Senior Pastor of Scott Boulevard, will be introducing by name and with photos our forty-five new additions to the First Baptist Decatur family of faith.
