I hope you are relishing the beauty of these lovely fall days. We were fortunate to have a magnificent weekend of weather that really highlighted the many gifts our congregation currently enjoys. Here are a few recent accomplishments we can be thankful for.
Trunk or Treat, Friday, October 21 from 5:30pm to 7pm
Come out dressed in a fun costume and get some awesome candy and halloween treats! It will be a fun night of celebrating the spooky season!
Legacy Ministry Trip to Blue Ridge Georgia and Mercier Orchards
Join the Legacy Ministry for our Young at Hearts Autumn Trip to Blue Ridge Georgia and Mercier Orchards on October 13 form 9am to 4pm. $20 per person includes bus transportation and lunch at Pat’s Country Kitchen. Sign up with payment by noon on Friday, October 7.
World Communion Sunday
There will be a combined service on October 2nd, World Communion Sunday, and a performance by the Decatur Avondale Children’s Choir. Service will begin in the Sanctuary at 10:30am.
Decatur Book Festival 2022
The 2022 Decatur Book Festival will take place on Saturday, Oct. 1st at First Baptist Church of Decatur, and will include a keynote the night before on Sept. 30th. The event will highlight selected authors with new fall publications, featured in fifteen sessions presented in three tracks: adult fiction, adult non-fiction, and children & youth.

The Allen Memorial Library at First Baptist Church Decatur is open to the public. You do not have to be a church member to visit. Library membership is FREE

FBCD Support Group
FBCDecatur is again offering a support group for those who are grieving due to the death of a relative, friend or significant other, pet, a divorce, or loss of a job.
The group will run for six weeks, beginning on Wednesday, July 27th and concluding on Wednesday, August 31st, from 10-11:30am. The group will be limited to a maximum of 10, so please call the church office at (404) 373-1653 to reserve your place for this group. If the group is already filled when you call, another group will be forming within the next two months.
