The Coming Ordination of Zach Mason

Special congratulations to our own Zach Mason! As our Pastor to Youth and Young Adults, Zach had requested to be ordained. He has been diligently moving through that arduous process. After presenting his Faith Journey and Call to Ministry to our Deacon Council, they offered follow up questions and then a subsequent unanimous vote that he move on to the next step. That entailed forming and going before a ten person Ordination Council. This was composed of four FBCD members, two staff members and four members from Zach’s life who were mentors or professors. We met last night.

He successfully navigated two and half hours of rigorous questioning from this conscientious Ordination Council; and after a full round of these questions, answers and follow up, our council unanimously and enthusiastically recommended his ordination before our FBCD congregation. It was a great evening and one that all of our church should be thankful for and proud of. 

His Service of Ordination will be Sunday afternoon (or evening), May 18th. Details to follow!
