• PICTURE BOOK

  • Monet’s Cat by Lily Murray and Becky Cameron
    The painter, Claude Monet, and his magical and mischievous cat romp through reproductions of some of Monet’s most famous paintings.  An excellent way to introduce little ones to the wonder of art.  Donated by Katherine Blanton.

• YOUTH FICTION

  • Loyalty by Avi
    The Newbery medalist, Avi, reveals a timely, fresh perspective on the American Revolution as a young man faces the perils and contradictions of a tumultuous time.

• ADULT FICTION

  • Even a Shepherd by Ronnie Jowers
    To quote Perry Sprawls, a former FBCD member, “Ronnie Jowers has provided us with an exceptionally powerful book that takes us beyond just observing - but more of experiencing - events during the life of Jesus.  This is through a fictional young man, a shepherd, who is there wondering, asking questions, and interacting with the Holy Family…We are provided with a new and engaging perspective of issues and events from birth to resurrection.  Even a Shepherd is not a book for a quick one-evening read.  It is a guide to deeper interaction with and thinking about the Gospel, one chapter at a time.”  It is a joint effort - Ronnie wrote the text and Kay, his wife, an accomplished artist, painted the picture for the cover of the book.

  • The Great Air Race:  Glory, Tragedy and the Dawn of American Aviation by Jon Lancaster

    The author, a journalist and amateur pilot, narrates the untold, almost unbelievable, story of the daring pilots who risked their lives in an unprecedented air race in 1919 - and put American aviation on the map.  Donated by Linda and Freddy Bailey.
