• PICTURE BOOK

  • Everything Will Be OK by Anna Dewdney
    The creators of the beloved Llama Llama and Skippyjon Jones series bring kindness, humor and the feeling of a warm hug to a message we all can use when times are tough:  everything will be OK.

• YOUTH FICTION

  • A Rover’s Story by Jasmine Warga
    Res, the rover, was built to explore Mars.  He was not built to have human emotions, but as he learns new things from the NASA scientists who assemble him, he begins to develop humanlike feelings.  Will Res have the determination, courage and resilience to succeed and survive on Mars?

• ADULT FICTION

  • The Engineer’s Wife by Tracey Emerson Wood
    Based on the true story of the woman who built the Brooklyn Bridge, this is historical fiction at its finest.  The protagonist, Emily Warren Roebling, refuses to live conventionally-she knows who she is and what she wants and she is determined to make changes during the volatile time of women’s suffrage, riots and corruption. Donated by Katherine Blanton.

• ADULT NON-FICTION

  • Through the Year with Jimmy Carter: 366 Daily Meditations from the 39th President by Jimmy Carter. The donation of this book by June Gay resulted from a question that Peter Rhea Jones asked in the Verdery Sunday school class:  “Do we have any books in the church library containing some of Jimmy Carter’s Sunday school lessons?” We have a number of books by and about Jimmy Carter, but only a CD of some of his lessons.  This book is based on more than 3 decades of practical Bible teaching delivered to his Sunday school in Plains, Georgia.
