Invitation to First Baptist Church Diaconate
Deacons’ Year-End Thanksgiving Banquet

According to the Bylaws of our church, the Diaconate consists of “all members who have been elected and ordained as deacons by the church.” That means whether you are a member of the current Deacon Council or have served as a deacon in the past, once a deacon, always a deacon! 

We will be celebrating the role of the Deacon at our Thanksgiving Banquet and we would love to have many of our past deacons present as well as members of the current Deacon Council.

It should be an inspiring meeting as we enjoy fellowship around the tables, honor those who are rotating off the board, and recognize incoming deacons. There will be entertainment and we will hear a “State of the Church” message from our pastor (we promise it will not be as long as the “State of the Union” typically given by the President). 

I do hope you will make a special effort to attend. Dinner will be served beginning at 6:30 p.m. and the cost per person will be $10. You can just pay that night at the door, but we do need to know in advance if you plan to attend so that we will know how much food to prepare.
