Prayer of Trust

Prayer based on Psalm 13

How long, O Lord?  How long will you hide your face from me?  They tell me you're there.

   My friends
          My church
               Your Word

But I can't feel it. I can't see it. Because all I feel right now is deep, deep grief. And I'm not sure how much of it comes from what life has dealt me and how much comes from feeling lost in your sea. Consider me, O God. Look at me and carry my grief with me. Give light to my eyes. Because I'm oh so close to darkness.

I still trust in your steadfast love. I do. My heart still remembers the joy of salvation. So I will call upon that memory and choose to sing praise to your name. Always. Even in the grief.

Amen
