Prayer of Endurance

A prayer for endurance

Refresh our weary hearts, O God,
As we face a long road ahead.
Help us to lean into your life-giving love
When we feel our capacity to endure is diminished.
Teach us to look for your presence
Like water in a desert of seemingly endless isolation.
You give us glints of your goodness
And reminders of your provision
When we feel exhausted at the prospect of yet another day, another week, another month of distance.
Show us how to love one another creatively,
And to commit to one another’s well being for the long haul.
Motivate us not to feel helpless or hopeless,
But to embrace doing our own part
As a service to You and to our neighbor.
