Prayer for Courage

Dear Lord,

Your word tells us that we are not slaves to fear. You have given us many promises that tell us to rest in you and your word.

In Romans 8: 15-17 you tell us,

“For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received a spirit of adoption. When we cry, ‘Abba!Father!’”

it is that very Spirit bearing witness--with our spirit that we are children of God.

Thank you for this wonderful promise. We will remember these words during the difficult times that we are tempted to give in to fear, but instead will decide to trust you.

May you keep your words in our hearts and minds, and help us to dwell on them throughout the day. Thank you, Lord.
