Prayer During a Storm
A Prayer for During a Storm:
Fires are burning in the west and hurricanes smacking into the east and a virus plagues us from coast to coast.
All around people face fires of financial crisis and stress swirls like a gale force wind around within our hearts and minds.
The very air we breathe is hazardous and we are choking on the fear that crowds our senses.
God who stills the storms, bring calm around us and peace within us.
God who heals the soul, strengthen us with your love.
God who sees our tears, comfort the grieving.
Do not leave us alone and without hope to face the storms that press in on us. Shelter us with your wings even as you strengthen us to face the world that rages around us. Heal the Earth as it cries out for your comfort.
And empower us as we seek your will for the betterment of our neighbors and our communities.
