Palm Sunday Warnings

As the prophet Isaiah says:

“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who declare peace and bring the message of your salvation…”

So it is when we hear 

Joyful voices join in song.

Yet, there is warning, too.

For just over the horizon of

Triumphal Entry lies

The very human tragedy of  

Betrayal

Denial

Abandonment 

Cross.

Therefore, 

let us not, 

In the midst 

of celebrations

Lose sight of our sinful potential.

Let our own confessions re-align our hearts and minds.

Easter comes. 

Yet still we stumble in confusion.

We still need You, O God: 

Our help and our redeemer.
