A Prayer for Hope

Pastor Kelsey Lewis Vincent

God Triune and Everlasting,

Send that feathered Spirit to a sick and downcast world this winter.
May the lonely and the sick and the sad know a taste of brighter future ahead, a glimpse of your goodness.

You tell us that in Jesus, those sitting in darkness have seen a great light.
Remind us of the light this year.

Show us how you are at work in our communities to love and care for the needy and impoverished.

Show us the spirit of Christ on display in the young and the elderly.

Teach us how to be beacons of that light in a world so desperate to see a light at the end of this long tunnel.

And may you motivate us to not give up striving for a better world where all may flourish in safety and in community.

In Christ’s name we pray,
Amen

About a Journey Through Advent

This year is unprecedented in its challenges to our global, national, and local communities, let alone the challenges to our own church community and personal spiritual growth. And yet, the rhythm of the church calendar continues to hold us in a life-giving refrain: hope is alive!

This series of devotional readings, scripture readings, and prayers is designed to give you an opportunity to pause and reflect on the hope, peace, joy, and love that the Advent season brings.

We challenge you to set aside time each day to read, reflect, and pray through these offerings presented by our pastoral staff.

May you find encouragement in the remarkable hope this season provides us!
