Monday Daily Prayer
April 6, 2020
O God,
Yesterday, our voices echoed through the centuries shouting, "Hosanna!," alongside the crowd that welcomed your son at the city gate. "Hosanna!," because our hearts are still full of praise. "Hosanna!," because we see your glory each and every day we look for it. "Hosanna!," because we have experienced new life in unexpected corners of our world. "Hosanna!," because your grace has sustained us time and time again.
Yet we also shout, "Hosanna!," because it is a passionate cry for help and salvation. "Hosanna!," because we beg for connection to something greater than ourselves. "Hosanna!," because we crave a glimpse of a Kingdom beyond this one. "Hosanna!," because we ache for wholeness that has not yet come.
This morning, take our praise and our pleas as we lay them at your feet. We offer both, trusting that he who came in the name of the Lord comes for the sake of humankind. For our kind. For us. For me. Hosanna in the highest. Amen.
