A Prayer for Motivation

Motivate us with your Spirit, O God.
Teach us how to be defiant in the face of pain,
to choose your love when the world pushes us toward fear.
Teach us to choose joy when sorrow threatens to steal our song.
Show us how to worship when our instinct is to withdraw from you.
Remind us of your love when we struggle to trust your goodness.
Open our eyes to your work in the world.
Open our ears to the song creation is already singing.
Move our hearts to join in, for our own sake as well as yours.
