Beth’s Books - September

Each month, Beth Withers, one of our library volunteers, shares the newest books that have been added to our church library this past month. For more information on our library click here.

  • PICTURE BOOK

    • What If Everybody Did That? by Ellen Javernic
This inspiring book shows how each person’s small, everyday choices - from throwing a soda can out of a car window to interrupting the librarian during story time - have consequences one way or the other. Donated by Carolyn Jones - one of the books in the 7 boxes of picture books that she gave to the church library.

  • YOUTH FICTION

    • Well, Not Really! by Ronnie Jowers
At a child’s birthday party, the granddaddy is asked how old he is. Baba, as his grandchildren call him, loves to exaggerate and starts telling them tales of how old he is. Each tale has a grandchild asking “Baba, is that really true?” To each, Baba says “Well not really!” but at the end of the book he tells them a truth that is REALLY true. Donated by Ronnie Jowers who will have a book signing in the library on October 1.

  • ADULT FICTION

    • The Love of My Life by Rosie Walsh
The New York Times bestselling author presents a stunning and poignant love story, a prospective mystery and a tale about the secrets we keep. This is a page-turner that would be good for book clubs.

Donated by Linda and Freddy Bailey.

  • ADULT NON-FICTION

    • Lose 200 Lbs. This Weekend by Don Aslett
The author, who has written a number of books on decluttering and personal organization, presents a book sure to inspire and instruct the reader with the how, why and WHEN on reducing the “too much” all around you - junk and clutter. Donated by Lynne Pickens, a friend of the Withers, who is trying to declutter also!
