Beth’s Books - February

Each month, Beth Withers, one of our library volunteers, shares the newest books that have been added to our church library this past month. For more information on our library click here.

  • PICTURE BOOK

    • The Smart Cookie by Jory John and Pete Oswald
The authors serve up a heaping plate of laughs and lessons on self-confidence with this empowering, witty and charming story.

  • YOUTH FICTION

    • Two Degrees by Alan Gratz
The bestselling author shines a light on our increasingly urgent climate crisis while spinning an action-packed story that will hook readers and inspire them to take action.

  • ADULT FICTION

    • Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver
Inspired by Dickens’ David Copperfield, Kingsolver tells the story of a boy who braves the modern perils of foster care, child labor, derelict schools, addiction and crushing losses.  The author has a particular knack for making us empathize with lives that may bear little resemblance to our own.  She spoke at FBCD last year to a packed house.

  • ADULT NON-FICTION

    • We have lots of cookbooks in our library, especially those recently given by Opal Godwin.  Why don’t you come in, browse the cookbook section, 641.5, and check out one or more cookbooks so you can prepare your loved one a delicious dinner or tasty dessert!
