Monday Daily Prayer

Holy God,

Of sun and rain, wind and calm; God of every created thing, we lift prayers of thanks today for a new day, new blooms bursting from the earth, new opportunities to see your presence in our lives. On this day, as the birds join their joyful chirps with our thankful praises, we are reminded that you are our God. You are with us always, you care for us and comfort us; you hear us when we pray.

Hear us today, O gracious God, as we turn our hearts to you in quiet reflection. The world around us rages with concern and riots, with too many stories of people not loving their neighbor as you taught us to love. Help us to be love in the world around us, even as we are isolated from the world in which we live. Let us, with our words in online spaces, on the phone, and in letters to one another, be a loving presence and a living reminder of your light.

We pray for those who are struggling, rejoicing with those who rejoice and mourning with those who mourn. You are with us always, O God, and for this, we give deepest thanks in the name of our risen Lord. Amen.
