Portrayed as a crucial link in the long history of our spiritual forbears (his change of name from Jacobs to Israel illustrates this well), he is clever, resourceful, spiritual and passionate about God’s covenant. He is also manipulative, selfish, impulsive, careless, and uncaring about others. Join us as we enjoy these fascinating words while we also wrestle with our biblical heritage.
