worship is central to the life of faith.

In worship we gather to praise God, to pray, to confess our sin, to share together what God is doing in our lives and in the world, and to respond to God in intentional ways. True worship always leads to transformed living.

There are many expressions of worship that honor God. Currently there are two distinct worship experiences each Sunday morning at First Baptist Decatur. Both services include singing, prayers, Bible readings, a message from Pastor Julie and opportunities to respond to God. We encourage you to choose the worship time and style that best connect you and your family to God.

... It is madness to wear ladies’ straw hats and velvet hats to church; we should all be wearing crash helmets. Ushers should issue life preservers and signal flares; they should lash us to our pews”
